The Philosophy Behind The Soul

The Philosophy Of The Soul

Many philosophers have pondered the reality behind the soul. Although they have many ideas and concepts to what the soul really is, two facts remain. One, the soul is a very real thing to the philosophers and two, that no mortal man could ever possibly understand it as much as they would like to. We live in a day and age where human concern has dwindled and most feel as if only their own deserves consideration. This the opposite of what the philosophers would do, as they would try to assist any and every person. Why were they so ready to help those in need? It was because they believed that the soul lives forever and that it would be carried over from each lifetime. If the soul became wicked, then they would reborn as a lowly lifeform, and If the soul did good it would come back as a upright being. This is, at its core, the belief in reincarnation, which many believe in.

The philosophers believe that the soul was also a source of inner strength for those who walk upright. It is believed that the immortal soul is something that can be seen from faraway, and people can tell one another apart from merely seeing their soul. In cultures from the past and present it is also well known that people call the eyes the “Window to the Soul.” Can we really see a person's soul by merely gazing into the sea that is a person's eyes? Probably not, but you got to admit that there is something uncanny and almost supernatural about a person's eyes. When you look into someone's eyes, can you tell of their true intent? Maybe it is the eyes that show us how good or bad a person really is.

To me, as a philosopher and one of the last great alchemists, is the record of our deeds. We record whatever we've done throughout our lifetimes and incarnations. When you turn into a butterfly or crawl like a worm, this is all based on the actions we have been taking. Can a God grant us piety should our soul sink into despair and filth? In my belief, no. A God is not out there to correct our own wrongdoings. We should discard the concept of God when it comes to our ability to carryout good and evil. (Off the record, I do not endorse nor claim there is any gods. If anyone wants to discuss the existence of a God or Gods, this isn't the right place. On the record, I am a well known pagan which I am upfront about on even on social media. To follow me on Twitter, find me @BPLovecraft I will follow back and hope to connect with you there!) A soul can never die. I even am lead to believe in soulmates. If you are bound to someone you will find them, and there is only one person out there for each person. If you don't find your soulmate, then you will be stuck in a meaningless relationship until you do. Additionally, the soul is something that can be destroyed or kept should a person enter complete depravity. A soul can't last long when a person is depraved. The soul will become sovereignless.

Do all you can to keep your soul healthy and close. All that is in the heart and spirit is also in the soul. Do not fall to the evils of the world unless your soul is truly inclined to. The light of peace and love, though, is the place of heaven, the promised land. Do not fear what may become of you on this journey known as life. There is so much out there to be experienced, and so much of it your soul will delight in. Remember, you cannot die, and if your soul is right then your future is bright.
