Equality-A Martin Luther King Jr Day Special

Equality

Equality is something that is needed in the world. Few people actually speak up for promoting the idea of fairness and equality. All people should be equal. No nationality, status, or gender should be held above another. Nothing should separate humanity from one another. We are all in this together and have the same basic needs. We need to stop feeling we are better than one another and instead embrace each other as brother and sister. We are all the keepers of the Earth and if we are to survive we should be a close-knit family. This planet depends on all of us.

Gender equality, sadly, is still pretty much non-existent. Women are treated poorly often by the ones who should love them the most. What are males doing this for? The reason women begin to hate men is based off the way males treat them. Females are not sexual servants nor are they maids and babymakers. Males do all sorts of bad things to women just because men are insecure. Males need to look at the way they act and decide if their mother would approve of the way they treat women. Is chivalry dead? In lowlife males, yes, but those males are the ones without a job and without self-respect. I pity any male who sees their gender as superior to females.

Racial inequality still exists. We are not better than someone based off what color our skin is. We are given the same rights and have the same potential as everyone else. Why does racial inequality still infest people’s thoughts to this day? Because of stereotypes. We are a type of people to want to classify everything they know and see. A person cannot ever fit into a broad generalization. We are all one people who all came from the same family at one point in time. We all are beautiful, and we all have this gift which is the ability to love. Why not love one another? Break the mold and show everyone that you are colorblind.

We are a people who get wrapped up in culture and nationality. Even people in America try to divide themselves off from the crowd. Well, guess what? Wherever your family came from is irrelevant when we are talking about the human race. We should band with each other no matter who we are or where our family migrated from. We do not need to see our culture as better than anyone else’s. We all came from somewhere, and sure, there are some special things about each place in the world, but we should not let it break our love for everyone, our equality.

We are diverse people who should love before we hate, and feel before we cast aside. Let our hatred for one another die and embrace each other as our equals. Love everyone and not just your own. We are living a new future, and that means we must make it a great one to raise the next generation in. Make this world just and loving so that our legacy may live on peacefully. We were all born equal and have the same inalienable rights, that are given upon birth, where we can pursue a happy life, liberty, and justice. We are more than just ignorant people who hate change and what’s different and now it is time to show it.
