All Emotions Are Valid
Today we will be discussing emotion and why they are always both acceptable and valid. Emotions operate on a different level then what our minds and body can perceive. In some ways, emotions are out of this world. Science cannot explain emotion but those who have felt the euphoric effects of emotions certainly can. That means us, both you and I, are greater than scientists. We feel with our hearts, and it has power over both our mind and body. We are not creatures of irrational nature but extremely valid and legit feelings. Love to a doctor makes no sense, but to me, love makes perfect sense. It is the most powerful force and most emotions (including negative ones) are born from it. Hate, fear, anger, and jealousy are not unfounded and exist for very real reasons that lie somewhere within the human heart and conscious. They are as valid as joy, sympathy, and pleasure. We are a creature that feels, and we must understand that our emotions are like the essence that makes us live: without emotions we are just lifeless husks.
Emotions And Their Role In Empathy
I know empathy more than most males. I crave to know it better, as mirroring others appropriately is a very useful tool when used to better humanity. Empathy dictates the old philosophical core: “to walk in someone elses shoes.” We must understand that when feeling the very hold of empathy that our emotions are not our own, but someone elses. Sympathetic joys, one of the four sublime states, dictates emotional mirroring to celebrate with others during their happy times, and this is merely one branch of empathy. People who are sick may feel less empathy, and at times it seems like people have none. One common example of empathy is when a mother feels joy over the accomplishments of their child. Empathy exists in all of us, it just is sporadic at times and cannot be forced. Empathy comes natural, especially when we are at an event in life where it is an emotional rollercoaster ride.
Sympathy And Its Role In Emotional Validity
Sympathy is like the cousin to empathy, acting like empathy but at the same time is not identical. Sympathy is perceived as a response to others unfortunate events. We feel sympathy when we feel bad for someone, it even causing sorrow in ourselves over others demise. Sympathy is one of the most beautiful things as it is a sort of empathy in a whole class of its own. One who can feel pain over others pain is a true asset in life to both themselves and others.
Contentment
Sympathy and empathy aside, we know that as a person that joy is something that also comes and goes. Can a person be happy all the time? Also, can someone always be content with their current situation? Contentment is something that ties into an emotion and when we are no longer content, it becomes negative emotion, of both sorrow, hate, and sometimes even anger. We desire happiness, and I am led to believe all or most of us desire happiness. Only one who is not content in life will feel unhappy. Contentment is joy, and sometimes in life we simply don't have that joy.
Why All Emotions Are Ultimately Valid
We live in a world where normality is not a state but a quality. We are normal no matter what we feel. We are not restricted by any law to feel a certain way. When you're happy today just remember the rain may come. When the rain does come, also remember that you will find the sun. Your emotions are valid, as our mine, and together we will work towards a better world with more understanding of how people will feel. You can feel this way, it is okay, just please remember that a frown can always be turned upside down.
