The Endless Task: Balancing Karma

The Endless Task: Balancing Karma

One who believes and practices karma will understand it's an endless task. Karma is much like a mystery, as we do not understand fully every part of its nature. When a friendly cheerful person approaches we often do our best to return their grace. When someone in turn sends bad karma towards us we are naturally inclined to reflect their bad karma. We understand there is a scale in effect, light balancing the dark. Those scales seem to be tipped one way or the other often in the life of an adept.

Balancing karma may be a very daunting task for an initiate karmic being. We don't want to be rude or angry to a person, even if they were rude or mean to us at first. Its the most absurd thing about the karmic being, that they are a perpetual mirror. If you are even the least bit empathetic then you will become very gifted (or cursed) in reflection and absorption. You will become the the sign of defeat for evil ones, but you will also become something greater than that. A person who does good to another good karmic wielder will ultimately be a caring, loving person in return. Empathy and good karma makes you one of the best people alive. Face it, people who treat good with good and treat positive emotions with positive emotions will fall in with good company.

We love, that is simply human nature. We have the desire to be loved and love others. The scale of karma never balances one way forever. I will admit when I feel that I could do something more positive I will go out of my way to do it. There is many ways you can do positive actions. Reach out to others, lend them a shoulder, offer them a place of refuge in your heart. No one should be treated unfairly, but I'm afraid this broken world argues this point. Just as we want to love, we hate those who treat us poorly. Our natural response to anger is anger, and this is the curse of empathy that is resident in each human being. We should not treat hate with hate, but controlling our emotions is one of the hardest things for us to do. A person has a hard time letting go.

We can make a change in this broken world. The only way we can make a difference, though, is to escape our bad karma. The only way we can do this is by not responding to the negative influences and energies that effect this world. However, how exactly do we do this? The simple answer is to refrain from any actions that would jeopardize our enlightenment. Often this can be done with silence. Fight violence with silence. This is the only thing that works with me. Even I cannot respond well to bad karma. If I can avoid bad karma for my own self I will be in bliss.

The world does not reward bad karma, and I do not want to ever be left on the outside looking in. I will balance the karmic scales of life. Can you make the pledge? Why must we be slaves to our own human nature? We cannot control our primal nature, but we can harness our reactions towards the bad karma flung at us in this broken world. I know that negative energy corrupts and positive energy strengthens. What will you choose? Can you control karma? Can you embrace your fate? Or will you be drug along by it?
