Tranquility

Tranquility

Tranquility is the state of being tranquil, or calm. An enlightened being seeks to become tranquil. If there is no tranquility in you, then you will suffer. Your mind, body, and spirit must be tranquil to obtain inner peace. Even in the worst of times your best action is to remain tranquil. In this article we will explore what it means for someone or somewhere to be in a state of tranquility.

  A Tranquil Setting

What better place to find tranquility than in a tranquil setting?  When I think of tranquil settings I think of nature. Whether it be in the hills, in the woods, by a river, or at the park there is many places for you to be one with yourself and find inner calmness, to be still. There is a place inside of you that is much like your tranquil place, be a gorgeous sagebrush sea or a breathtaking bluff or canyon. Nature is always at peace, where the tired mind of a person can center themselves.

Find your place of tranquility, and try meditating, drawing, or even writing in your journal. The possibilities are endless. Peace can only be achieved in the mind, (where suffering comes from) but what better place to find it than in nature? Your mind will be must channel out the static that everyday life brings. Just consider it a temporary vacation. A tranquil mind is a happy one.

   What Tranquility Brings

Tranquility, which is sort of like equanimity ("peace of mind") and is a great thing to aim for. The mind is always at it's peak when we learn to focus, and eliminate our stress within. Stress can be eliminated temporarily by enjoyable activities and creature comforts, but this will not take away the stress created by our broken world.

Tranquility makes our mind, as aforementioned, focuses at a heightened level. When we are tranquil, we can fathom the inner mysteries of our universe. We are one with ourselves, and if you are in physical or emotional pain, then I believe you are able to cure that pain, or at least find a way to transcend it. A mind is powerful, and can find the truth in all things. It's all about taking out the bad things that clutter our mind, and nurturing what is good inside, those loving and caring traits. This is a sure fire method in promoting inner stillness, which will increase a serene, tranquil state.

To keep your mind tranquil, you must act out upon good intention and action, for a sage knows that no strife, chaos, or disarray may stay in our mind.  The mind is the ultimate tool, it is the gatekeeper to the doors of both good and evil. Someone who is not on a karmic path will stumble, where one who is keeping a sound mind will continuously go up and up.

  Balancing Life With Desire

Desires are what create suffering, and most people will encounter desires in everyday life. Not everyone is cut out for monastery life as a monk. But there is good news. Tranquility can be sought out in any lifestyle. It's just one step away, just remember that special place, your escape. Enlightenment will come to you if you let it. That's right. A mind at it's highest clarity, enlightenment, is available to all who seek it.

Tranquility is merely a secluded state of being that is ideal to eliminate the stress that comes from daily life. I recommend involving yourself in light meditation and taking breaks when stress is too high. Tranquillity is not something that can stay inside unless you constantly maintain it. It's a safe conclusion to say that you will be able to find tranquility, and it may be different from other people's methods of obtaining inner oneness. Do what works best for you.
