Visualization
Visualization is a powerful technique. Visualization can calm the heart and help you concentrated on what really matters. Whether it's channelling out distractions or putting out a fire in the heart, visualization can take you to the hidden paradise in your mind.
Visualization at it's Core
To accomplish anything, you must picture yourself doing it first. To appreciate something, you have to see it in your mind and imagine all of it's splendor. The mind thinks visually: everything you can see with your eyes your mind can see it better.
If I were to achieve a mood or state, I would first picture myself at that emotional level. If I wanted to be calm, I would still my mind and focus on a peaceful noise like the ocean. Waves crashing...the sounds of distant birds.....a quiet sandy beach....it's wonderful. It's like your own personal escape. A place deep inside of you, calling your name. Your mind knows how to paint a wonderful portrait or landscape just for you.
There is reality and surreality. Both intersect. When reality leaves you broken, surreality will be your up most oasis. A place seen close in the desert, with plants, birds, and precious water. Visualization is just that amazing. Reality in this world is indeed cruel, and there is always a time where a person will imagine themselves elsewhere, or maybe even imagine themselves living a new life.
Visualization is what makes dreams come true. If you can't even picture yourself doing something then you may not be able to in life. Yet for those who pursue their dreams, meditate upon it, picture it in their minds, then their dreams will come true. Maybe not right away, but we have all the time in the world. Belief is powerful.
The Turmoil Inside and how the Fire Dies
We are at constant war with the world. Suffering comes from within. Our mind can light the path and lead us out of danger. In order to heal the mind and develop peace of mind, we need to constantly escape. Our enemies are numerous, as leading a karmic path will bring you in contact with both friend and for. The path is long and hard, and our trials never end.
To put out those fires, and to end our inner strife, we need to dream. Both at day and night, either asleep or awake, we need to visualize, imagine, and dream. Our dreams will come often, and we only understand as much as dharma allows us to. If I ever understood what the driving force behind me is, and the reason I initiate my actions, I feel that nirvana would lose it's meaning. We are helpless to fate and our dreams.
Is it possible this whole life is nothing but a dream? Could we all be stuck in some sort of alternate reality? I'm not sure, but I know all of life is beautiful. When I visualize in my mind, both fantasy and more become vivid....real. I dream of peace for everyone but at the same time I know reality that there has to be a global change for this to become real. Everyone should visualize their dreams, and other things. Some say life is boring, not those who do say it's boring haven't taken their time to turn their reality into a dream.
Conclusion
What I'm saying to you my friends and readers from near and far, never let go of your dreams. Visualize day and night what matters to you. You can make fantasy your reality. After all, it's written in the stars. If you can separate dreams from reality, then you'll be footed well on the earth. Now, if you can make your dreams and reality merge, then you'll walk amongst the stars.
