Thoughts on Peace

Peace is something many want, even if the person claims the opposite. Peace is always appealing. To live with inner peace will create outer peace around you. Peace is something many strive for. Peace is right for everyone.

How do we obtain peace? Many will give you different answers. One may say convictions give us peace, or having a family (We sure know that isn't always the case). Some will say we achieve peace through meditation or having someone close to us that will hear our own personal problems. One might say music and gardening leads to peace. Do you see the picture I am painting for you? Peace comes from many walks of life, and our ways of obtaining peace are not always the same as everyone else. This is what makes peace so grand, that it can be obtained in so many ways.

Peace is often only thought of on political levels. This is where we get caught up in this broken world's schemes. To believe that a nation or a principality can have peace is neigh. You have the power of making yourself happy and obtaining inner serenity. Have you ever seen that couple that is still so madly in love even though they've been together for so long? They have peace. I'm sure they wouldn't trade it in for anything else in the world.

How do I obtain peace? To me peace has a few key components. Love, tenderness, and considerate friends and family members that I can always count on. Now that is peace to me. I don't want to be at war. I don't want myself to suffer. I want freedom, as long as it doesn't infringe upon anyone else. I want my internal dialogue to be positive and refreshing. Now that is peace to me.

Everything you may do, I urge you do it with peace. Peace is the gift that keeps on giving. If there is one thing you could do, any one thing, would it be from peaceful means? All gifts come from peace, as even love ultimately is the fruit of peace, as well as happiness. If you meditate, try to think of a world where there is nothing but peace. No arguments, no war, no violence, no crime, only peace. Wouldn't it be amazing? A place where there is no suffering. Dreams can happen, but I'm afraid it will be for only a select few. Face it: there is a karmic balance in this broken world, and some simply do not want peace.

My concluding thoughts are simple. I have always believed if I impact only one person's life, then my life is not in vain. If I impact many lives, then I'll be a hero. If I impact more than that, than I've obtained a type of peace that is truly hard to find. Make your life meaning to chase after peace, and see how far you will go. I need no belief in you: I'm sure your here for a particular reason, and I feel it is the right reason. Go in peace.
