Nirvana is a place of peace and happiness, and the ultimate reality. There is no suffering I'm nirvana. I have been taught to believe that Nirvana is unattainable. The theory behind Nirvana being an unreachable goal is the fact that it it takes so ong that few can reach it. However, the Buddha believed it could be reached in a person's present life. That being said, let's take a deeper look than before into nirvana.
My initial thought is that reaching Nirvana is going to take consistent meditation. On top of that, you're going to need to discard your notions of self worth. I believe that anyone carrying an ego is not correctly following the eightfold path (the eightfold path was covered in a previous post. Quite simply, the eightfold path alleviates suffering). Additionally, you're going to need a lot of time. Mediation takes time in itself, and you are also going to need a bunch more to practice and study.
The Buddha said that Nirvana is the ultimate goal, and that he reached there upon enlightenment. What exists in this state I do not completely know, nor do I know if one can stay permanently in Nirvana. One might think Nirvana is temporary and you must continually take food actions and build up your karma in order to continue to stay there. Nirvana means extinguishment or unbinding, and upon reaching one would be lead to believe that all your worries and anxieties disappear in Nirvana. The buddha was silent when it came to the subject of what Nirvana is like. He attributed, though, that it is completely unlike our broken world. Nirvana is, completely indescribable to most or all.
When I meditate, my last thoughts are upon attempting to reach Nirvana. Instead, I am focused on my own problems, and attempting to not.make them disappear, but to discover their origin. If I can find the root to the evil tree of my imperfections, perhaps I will be able to end the suffering that arises from each of them. I suppose there is none of our former problems in nirvana. Best yet, nirvana occurs when we are alive and still here.
Nirvana is something everyone should consider. I'm not sure quite what it is, but the Buddha made it sound like it was worth pursuing. In my own imagination, nirvana is a place full of wild flowers, an entire field. You can lay in the flower field, bit you can't pick any of the flowers. You can stay there....until it's time to go. Then you're pursuit of Nirvana starts all over again. Correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps, nirvana It's different for each and everyone who reaches there. The mystery of nirvana may never be told, except if you reach there yourself.
In conclusion, Nirvana is said to be attainable by us, even if the critics don't agree. We should strive for it and enlightenment. At one point, enlightenment and nirvana more than likely exist side by side. Nirvana is a serene dream, where suffering is gone and bindings are absent. Nirvana is the ultimate goal, and I hope you'll reach there yourself.
