Wisdom and Compassion

I understand that nothing in this world is complete. Not you, not.I, not the ground where we stand. Wisdom is something that must be experienced through self actualization. To gain wisdom one must be open minded. As we discussed before, wisdom is one of the 5 strengths and guards against ignorance.  We must be objective, and understanding all points of view, even if they challenge our own. The path to true wisdom requires courage, patience, flexibility, and Intelligence. It is simple to believe what you are told, but the path to wisdom requires to change your beliefs at anytime with the introduction of new knowledge. Just as wisdom is needed, so is compassion. Compassion is a quality like no other and is needed for one to have true understanding of others.

The path to enlightenment requires knowing the truth and not everyone will become enlightened. Enlightenment requires you to be free of the ways of the world, and knowing the truth regarding all things is needed. Once more, no one will ever know the truth behind all things. Those who pass on knowledge are compassionate and we must be compassionate. It is truly hard to be compassionate to all, as I know the pain of this path. Compassion is a unique human trait and is quite simply the ability to feel others pain. Compassion is truly a strong quality and is a necessity for any great teacher.

When I was young I was very foolish, as I grew older I gain wisdom. Along the way I gained a bit of compassion and continue to gain more compassion as I understand more and more. Together wisdom and compassion covers the intellectual and emotional sides of a person. This is what separates us from those who are walking an evil path. The compassionate and wise know the true reward of assisting others. Our own personal struggle will eventually be reborn into the concern of others. It is true we cannot help others until we can help ourselves.

I believe the world is taking a turn for the better. As we become more sincere towards others who are different from ourselves, we are not only being compassionate, but also gaining wisdom. Do you see the correlation between compassion and wisdom? Now how will you challenge yourself today? In this ever changing world, it is like a dream, ourselves oblivious to it's inner working and reality. Self sacrifice is a virtue and you will someday have to do much of it yourself if you have not yet. Keeping friends and family requires selflessness and you will surly gain wisdom as you improve their welfare.

We now know that compassion and wisdom go hand in hand and are like yin and yang. One pushes against the other to make each other move. Knowing wisdom is to be compassionate and to keep an open mind. An open mind is so important in this world and will help you gain wisdom and to be compassionate. Remember that even the Buddha helped himself for years before he could help others. The path is broad and will challenge the way you think. Karma will only come to those who help others and keeps an open mind to guard against ignorance.
