Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang is a philosophy of opposing elements. Not good and evil opposing forces, but two that push against each other like magnetic poles. Not to be confused with dualitirs, ying and yang can be as simple as hot and cold or as complex as deceit and truth. This philosophy is often adopted by martial artists and great philosophers world wide.

To understand yin and yang, we must break it down to its most prevalent form. Humans adopt emotions that may conflict ('clash' if you will) with one another. This can be at work, home, or social environments. What would be the best way to diffuse arguments and fights? To use the opposing force. One who is angry, act cool and be polite. One who is depressed, use a happy and up-beat attitude. Being zen is everything, promote peace, not war. Live freely and don't trample on one anothers rights to live a peaceful and enjoyable life.

I never could understand the most complex mysteries of the universe, nor will I ever try to.  If there was one thing I do understand, it's that yin and yang is an amazing complex. Wars can be won, alliances can be forged, and the most contrasting of people can be melded as long as you meditate on this ancient principal. No one force can not have an opposite, for anything you can think of there must be an opposing element. Iron rusts, food conquers hunger and love ends hate. No foe is too great for the peaceful yin-yang master.
A side note about elements. Often people try to simplify ying and yang by breaking it down into elements. Fire melts ice, water puts out fire, and wood is burnt by fire. Metal corrodes and poison corrodes living things. This is true, but this simple idea can be easily expanded. Fog obscures vision, and lightning downs trees. Clouds block the sun, and night brings slumber.

Become an apprentice in the philosophy of yin and yang. Broaden your horizons with a unique way of dousing any flame. Love will gather in you, and compel you to assist in your servitude to others. Knowledge of yin-yang can make potential enemies into friends, and chaos into order. It can help you grow a garden and become zen in your inner garden. Dwell deeper and continue with this knowledge on your quest of chasing nirvana. Be still, like a tree, and not even the strongest can move you.
