Shamanic Origins

The True Order of Souls

The order of existence, is not known to many. Between humans, spirits, and the Gods, there are shamans, or Intermediates. The shaman is someone who meditates between humans and spirits, often doing the bidding of the Gods or Evil Gods. Their primary concern is to travel to the other world, or the heavens and hells, to return missing fragments of souls to their owners. They initiate their visionary powers via trance, often triggered by the use of psychoactive drugs. Drumming and dancing is also attributed to shamanism, for its ability to induce trance.

Shamans are elected by the Gods, born shamans, or people who were trained by other shamans. They are quite noticeable for their excitable state, that comes across as paranoia or anxiety. Shamans are prone to psychic energies, and are very sensitive to their environments. Using their powers, shamans are able to rearrange the pieces of a broken universe. Shamans that are evil are often referred to as sorcerers, perhaps attributed to the local people of the regions in which shamans normally inhabit. Every culture has a shamanic figure tied into it, from every known area of the world that has been inhabited.

Shamanic Roots

Shamans were mainly derived from the part of the world known as Siberia. They were primarily a hunter-gatherer type of people who that drew power from such animals as wolves and bears. Animal spirits and totemism has since been evident in each form of shamanism found throughout the world, and is not truly unique to any. Shamans will often have a guardian angel who is the opposite gender of the shaman to look after them. This spirit can either be the spirit of the deceased or a spirit being who never had a mortal life. They are fully dedicated to the shaman and are perhaps assigned by some God or grand spirit. Shamans are free to choose any religion for themselves, but they are primarily Pagan in nature, as their beliefs spread across the globe and through each religion itself.

Shamanic Identity

A shamanic individual is viewed as an eccentric, or someone who is seen as different from your common person. They are the natural comedian, actor, and storyteller, as well as musician, as each of these customs are apart of their culture. Shamans were often related to both Ergi in Nordic Myth or Kabuki actors in Japanese lore, or that would be said to be males who played the role of a feminine being. Freya was the Norse Goddess of Seidr, an art of divination taught to Odin who begged her for such. Since, Odin's journey has been associated with one's passage through shamanism. Even Odin's association with poetry and animals closely resemble the shaman. Odin was known as the father deity to the Aesir, which is very quaint, as he was originally mortal. Odin's transformation into a deity is not unlike a shaman's personal growth. Ultimately, the shaman is a divinely inspired being, who will one day become a deity on Earth, passing on messages from the spirit world, and they will be unto the angels.

Shamanism is not something passed to several individuals in society, and, thus, is a chosen trait. My knowledge of shamanism and the spirit world should not be surprising to anyone who has visited my blog before. I've practiced shamanism for 16 years and studied it for a grand total of 18. Since I was initiated I've had no doubt in the mission I'm serving, which is to serve both humanity and spirituality, which is what the shaman is an infusion of. May we not know the fear of a plague, but instead the fear of what we do not know to be truth.
