Beautifully Flawed

Beautifully Flawed

We are, as a human creature, flawed. We will never be perfect, no matter how hard we try. We often let this simple principle escape us. There are many times in life where people picture themselves as perfect. This is incorrect, as we all have weaknesses. There is no need to fear, though, as our flaws make us beautiful. Without flawed people, our world would be boring, as our flaws are what makes us unique.

Embrace Your Flaws

Do not deny your imperfections. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. Our separate strengths make us able to connect with one another and help each other. Without flaws in the human race we would never need to assist those who don’t have our individual strengths. We cannot ignore this state. Humans were made for each other. We must show compassion to one another and aide each other if we are to make this planet a better place for future generations to live in.

We must not hold onto pride and ideas of superior nature. Pride kills. Only the truly weak hold onto pride and arrogance. No one, not even the president, is better than anyone else. Those heroes of yesteryear are all dead and gone for a good reason. They failed to be portrayed with flaws, and they crumbled like a statue, its best features eroded. When pride takes over us, we tend to think that no one is good enough for us. We judge and disrespect everyone. Our rationality flies out the window whenever we feel pride. Pride is the destroyer of identity,  because when we let go of our flaws and perceive ourselves as perfect there becomes nothing to identify yourself as. When we are a technician, we identify ourselves as that. When we love music, we become a music lover. When we are perfect at everything, we lose who we are. We no longer have unique traits and instead believe we have every trait.

It is amazing that a person would ever believe they are perfect. However, many people have different beliefs regarding what is truly perfect. Also, we believe that heroes, icons, and our idols are perfect when in reality they are far from it. Our minds are naturally bias. We often believe what and who is appealing to us is without flaw. Why we bother with the notions of a idolized figure is beyond all of my reasoning. We feel pride in others and ourselves, and even become offended when a hero figure of ours is insulted. We need to release our standards and discard our human idols, and understand that they too are flawed, just like us.

Accepting Others Flaws

We need to not only understand we are flawed but also everyone else is flawed. When we can grasp that others are flawed we are more forgiving and less judgemental to everyone. People are beautiful, and their flaws make this life worth living. Embrace others and all they have to offer. You will reap utter joy when you find out that everyone has something good about them and skills all of their own.

We do not need to falsely believe we are perfect. We should accept everyone, knowing they are too flawed. We need to accept imperfection as everyone’s standard. I know that variety is the spice of life and it takes many to make the world go around. Above all else, we must love one another.
