Moving To Higher Grounds

Moving To Higher Ground

Today we will be covering the topic “moving to higher ground” which refers to damage control. When a soldier is shot at from unseen forces, they move to higher ground to avoid gunfire and have a tactical advantage. Likewise, in life we should follow the same strategy should we have unexpected misfortune occur in our daily lives. The strategy should consist of:

1-Isolate-Identify the problem and isolate yourself to minimize your losses.

2-Escape-Move to a place where you can think and plan a solution to your problem. When you cannot find a permanent solution, seek a quick fix.

3-Recover-Recover from the misfortune, and execute your plans to patch up the problem you faced.

As you can see, it is a 3-point plan that can help you though anything, providing solutions and healing to what hurt you in life. The soldier analogy works well: life is always a battlefield. We will come under fire in life. We have two choices in life’s battles: retreat or fight. Often our best option is to do a little of both, and that means seeking higher ground. What would you do during a flood? Why, you would also seek higher ground. Things are easier to do if you regroup first.

Life is very trying. You don’t have to face it alone. When you move to higher ground it helps to have a support system, some additional “fireteams” who can cover you on higher ground. Your friends and family are important, in many ways. It’s best to fight whatever enemy comes along the way with allies. Maybe your even facing the same problem together. We must always protect one another in our time of need. Life is too scary to face on your own. When you have your friends and family there in your corner, you can conquer any foe. That’s right, any. There is no problem that can survive a concentrated blast from several groups of soldiers from higher ground.

While fighting from higher ground we must realize that the whole point of the tactic is to put into effect a damage control plan. You’ll need to find your own unique plan to “stop the bleeding”. We are not in control of fate, and we must be ready for whatever problem comes up against us, and that means we should try our best to cut our losses. Sometimes it isn’t possible to avoid life’s many problems and the damage it does to our lives. In this scenario, we must prevent further losses to happen. By retreating to higher grounds in life, we are given precious moments to catch our breath. When we have a moment to plan, we always do better in life. Just like when you make a grocery list for shopping, planning things out in life's problems is so much better than going into life “unarmed”. Think of your mind as a weapon that you can use to fight back against life’s many hidden foes.

Life is something that requires planning, especially when you are fighting against life’s many threats. You do not have to battle your enemies blindly or without strategy. You need to climb up that hill and fire back at your problems whiles healing your own wounds from the enemy at the same time. Remember, a warrior is one who plans carefully, and that includes in the face of danger. Remember the plan: isolate, escape, and recover. When you do those steps, you will survive all of life’s battles. We are more than just human: we are soldiers who have a hardened exterior that can withstand the war going on inside and out.
