Human Equity

 The Equity of Humanity

Equity is the state of impartiality and fairness. Often in humanity equity is not practiced. I'm this broken world we are treated "second rate" to others possessing greater belongings and what we could call the "almighty dollar bill." There is no real way to treat this lack of human equity, except to practice it ourselves. We must remember one unique principle that is relative to the human race: we all suffer, and all suffering comes from within.

  Why Human Equity should Exist

People (and all beings) are created equal. We have no favorship when we are born into our current life. Our deeds follow us, yet so many people are treated unfairly. One can do good and be bound to the scales of dharma. Even if no one seems to care, you will be rewarded by the karma earned.  Even so, human equity is still far from a reality.

Humanity is not known for fairness. Families favor their members, friends favor each other, and spouses the same. One who is not within an inner circle of theirs will fall upon cruelty and unfairness. One thing this darned invention called the internet has done is create virtual elitism and if anyone disagrees with what they have to say  (be it on forums, social sites, etc) then their thoughts and ideas are seen as inferior, and thus them as well. We must break free from this quaint notion of thought: no one is better than anyone else.

   Love: What Answers All

We must love! Everyone and each other. Love is the answer to the narrow view of favoritism. I do not want one believing in rank and file: leave that to the horrible company of killers we call a military. Love one another, show compassion, and have sympathetic joy for others. Do you really want to be known as a hate monger, one who only has time for who they choose to honor? I honor all: both corrupt and good. We all are on this journey, and not all have the same role in this grand play we call life. I implore you to think outside the box. Love those people, and let hate disappear. We will usher in a new age of humanity, one free from violence and prestigious.

Do you remember that person who was so kind to everyone in school? Or perhaps that stranger that was compelled to help you? They are a example of both love and equity. This serves as a very simple example that fairness and love go hand in hand.  Do more than just love your friends and family. Love everyone. Remember the four sublime states: love, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity.

 Concluding Thoughts

No one should be made a martyr for no reason. All the same, we should not persecute the innocent merely because they are not "one of us." The pack like mentality of canines is not welcome in humanity. Let this be an omen to those who would be depraved of equity: that person you were unfair to will remember you the rest of their life. When they are king or queen or may have the chance to lord over you, they will show you no mercy.
