Fortune Favors the Unfortunate
Joe knew what he wanted, and it was her. Joe was your average flyboy, and had grown tired of working at the resort. He left his brother, who had been attending to his desk duties, to chase after the wealthy older woman. Little did he know that he was signing a ticket for disaster. His brother, however, would quickly become involved in an equally dangerous relationship.
It was not long before Joe found out that Amber was wanted by the police. His brother, unwittingly, agreed to take her place in custody with the help of a plastic surgeon. Joe, on the other hand, went to stay with his friend, Chad, an ex-con. It wouldn't be long before they discovered that Amber was not in the room that Joe's brother occupied as she awaited questioning. They let Joe's brother go, where both of them would go onto work at a video store.
At the video store, the place became haunted by the brother's misdeeds. In the name of lust they had helped a criminal escaped. Now, with their overzealous father, who was also a police officer, they could lose what little they had retained of their former lives. He picked the two brothers up, and started to drive them to the prison.
Joe's brother pleaded with their father. He originally turned back, but after hearing Joe's threats, he returned to his course towards the prison. Joe's brother, in an act of desperation, pushed their father, knocking him and his stepdaughter down. They crashed into the wall of rocks surrounding the road. Both their father and his wife checked their stepdaughter, who they were utterly concerned about, checking for injuries. Their father who fell out of the car didn't seem the least concerned about himself. They ordered Joe and his brother to get out, in which they were relieved to do.
The brothers had nothing but a bag of their possessions on their back. They entered a building, in which they were going to ask the owners for work and lodging. What luck. This was a building which was a law firm, and they had heard about Joe and his brother. An attorney in the back was just dying to take their case. They had been the complete victims here.
The pursuit of lust is a dangerous affair, but the chase after money is stronger. Whenever your endeavors lead you astray, be sure that there is someone there to take up the slack for you. Your actions matter little if you can just pursue someone recklessly in civil court. Real justice doesn't come from putting someone in prison, but instead for sucking them for every penny their worth. Joe and his brother were not concerned with suing Amber and her friends, but instead their petty father. Their father had replaced them, and it's now they did what he had sought to do to them. Only this time around they knew it would be hard to put a cop in prison. Suing a cop, though, as we know from recent experience here on Earth, is all-too-easy for a experienced lawyer.
Let this be a lesson for those who disown their own sons. The reaper will come for you, ready to make you a bum. To abandon your own sons is like to pour vinegar into wine. Vengeance comes to the unfortunate, as it only takes a moment to strike a deal with fate. Let all of these things exist solely in the region of our mind where black is white and north is south, the place where light enters night. In my dreams, the victims become rich and the traitors hang.
