The Dark Side Of Christmas
Let's get one thing out there: Christmas isn't a Christian holiday. Christianity stole Christmas from Pagans and adopted their birthday for their Messiah, Baal, the pagan god child who symbolizes harvest. The tradition of Christmas trees also came from paganism, and it would be impossible to believe that Jesus Christ was born in the winter, as the three Wisemen walked through the valley at night, which would be insanely cold during the winter nights. Let's add in the fact that Baal was born on Christmas because of the lack of crops during the winter and his arrival was to bring spring as he aged, bringing warmer weather to grow crops. Most scholars would believe that Jesus would have been born in Spring. I don't believe in Christianity, and this is one reason why.
This post isn't about religion, though. I've came to write about depression and suicide attempts that many people suffer from during this time of year, especially Christmas and New Year’s eve and day. Humans aren’t perfect, and we should be aware that these problems exist for many worldwide and we should donate our resources and time to promote suicide awareness. Ever since my two friends committed suicide, I have been a suicide awareness and activist. When Jen and Josalyn died, I did not break down, but instead wished to become a champion for their tortured spirits. Are you strong enough to acknowledge that the jolly season isn't that for many people, and realize how many people end their lives this time of the year? We have to, as our mental health industry and civil servants like police don't have a definitive answer or response to this growing epidemic that is depression and suicide. Our society in America treats things like this as taboo, but we need to talk about it. Our society is strong only if each citizen receives both ample support and success. If we help each other out, no matter the circumstance, we will truly be a strong country. Trump cannot make America great as he does not have interest in those who are of the commonwealth. Trump is a tyrant, and I, am someone who sees the problems of all those who suffer. Do not reject your fellow American, nor anyone in the world.
Christmas is a time of the year that many hate more than they love, and we are all subject to the stress that comes with it. Some of us are weaker than the others, and we must assist those who are not as strong as us. Do not do it in the name of god, but more in the name of love. If you are privy to someone's mental illness or some sort of depressional problem, then please, make time for them this time of the year. It only takes three words and a little company to prevent someone from killing themselves. A little kindness goes a long way. Help one another during this time of year. I know many people on social media care about branding themselves with breast cancer and Christian crap but I'm challenging you to take up the cause of suicide awareness. No one gives a care about whatever Facebook propaganda that you're spreading so discard that so you can truly help out those in need. Ciao!
