Another Life

Another Life

Many of us go through life and encounter difficulties. Many wish that their troublesome past could just be filed away, never to be brought up again. Some of us even wish for a new life, in some other town with a different identity. Face it, we mess up in life, and sometimes running away from the problems we have caused seems an easier path for one to take. Rest assured, this is never the case. (Although it sounds like one heck of an adventure, huh?) We must repair our lives and not seek new ones. Where there is birth and death, there must be rebirth, correct?

We usually want to run away when our problems seem to be too much for us to handle. Instead of running away, some of us will seek to make amends first. If we aren't able to reach the resolution we want, we panic, and want nothing more than to start over in our adult lives. Could this be the only way that we can repair the wounds in our once solid and stable lives? I'll tell you a secret: either way, your life will never be the same. Your life can never return to the way it once was. You must focus on recovery, and not the establishment of a new life. No one gets a second chance without paying a price. Seek absolvement, not a clean slate. You can't run away from your problems, because they'll follow you and haunt you until you face them and acknowledge the way they make you feel.

Life is too long for to want to start over. Quite honestly, our scars make us beautiful. Without a story to tell, we'd be boring. We learn from every bad situation we have lived through in life, and our attempts to erase our failures is noble, but not sincere. If you can't remember what you've been through, you are likely to live through it again. If we don't learn from past mistakes we are bound to repeat them, for hence is the law of our own history.

People are addictive in nature. On very few occasions are we ever able to break the cycle of our repeated behaviors. We need to treat our failures as if they were actions taken in some sort of addictive actions. Addiction is something that effects both body and mind, and just about anything can be addictive. If we are to create a healthy future for us and our loved ones, we can't be addicted to bad behavior. We must struggle to keep our bodies immune to repetitive and dangerous choices. Giving into vice is always negative, as is all drugs. Pain relievers are even unnecessary, as they will only lead to a criminal addiction if you abuse them. Likewise, our minds do not like emotional pain, so it is completely feasible that we will indulge in actions to help us relieve the pain caused to our minds and hearts, if only for a single second.

Don't run from your problems. It is foolish for us to think that we need to create a new life for ourselves. Instead, repent and seek amends. You'll feel so much better about yourselves if you face those people that you had ran into difficulties with in your life. They might even forgive you, so why not seek absolvement? You can’t run forever, and you can't change who you are. Ciao!
