Feeling Abandoned

Feeling Abandoned

Many people deal with the feeling that they were abandoned or left behind. This is normal for a person after losing a friend or mate. Whatever the reason may be, do not give up hope. The feelings of abandonment will go away as you realize how unique and truly beautiful you are. You have to remember true friendship is something where people should work out their differences and issues and always stay together. Friends and mates should be bonded in a personal way where abandonment is not an option that may arise.

As a human being, it seems as if retreat is a defense mechanism. This defense mechanism (like all defense mechanisms,) is used to replace one of humanity’s biggest fears, and that is confrontation. Face it, confrontation scares people. Confrontation, though, is not always aggressive and negative. Confrontation can actually be quite a good thing. By discussing our problems with others, compromises can found. We are more than simple people who run away whenever a problem pops up. We have to be strong, and fight to keep what we love. Do we not love our friends and mates? If not, then we shouldn't bother with them in the first place. Love must be felt for any sort of interpersonal relationship to bloom and flourish. When we love someone, we need to be assertive and speak out when a problem is there. If they truly love you back, they will definitely meet you halfway. Trust me, good friends and mates are hard to find but you will always know a true companion when they respect you.

If someone abandons you, you will be naturally hurt. You can't just view them as if they were mean or not worth it if you love them. Keep your mind positive and keep active if you are going to forget about them. That's what you have to do, both forgive and forget. It simply is not efficient to only forgive or forget. To carry a grudging heart is one of the biggest flaws a person can have. Love should exist always, and we need to keep that in our hearts. Abandonment is something they did, and not you. Even if you made a mistake, someone who truly loves you should forgive you and ask you not do again, not run away. The depression you feel when losing a friend or mate will fade, and honestly one of your best bets is to surround yourself with people after you lose an old friend. Life is long, so go out and meet new people. Don’t see a loss as a bad thing. Turn it around and make that rain into a beautiful rainbow. Being abandoned is a horrible feeling to deal with but it is not the end of the world. Sometimes life can be a whirlwind, destroying what is in its path. However, it can also be a lifegiving waterfall, concealing a cave full wonderful natural treasures.

Abandonment is a hard feeling but with proper tactics and correct thought patterns we can overcome it. Do not obsess over the past, and instead move forward. No one can bring you down, as life is a long journey. We are people who love and care for others, and if someone abandoned you it means they did not care. You are amazing and worth so much to others it’s incredible. Go out there and kick your feelings of being left behind and become the centerpiece, the life of the party.
