Dealing With Misfortune

Dealing With Misfortune (Adversity)

Adversity-Misfortune or distress.

When adversity comes in your life, we have two options on how we deal with it. One, we can grieve over it, and not recover from the misfortune, or two, we can try to treat it as a learning experience and remain positive. Should we choose the latter of the two, there is a good chance we can bounce back from the adversity that has occurred in our lives. Dealing with adversity is never fun, but we must realize that the positive mind conquers all. Adversity is tough, trust me, but as you’re here, you have shown a great bit of strength and are on the right path to help you push past your troubles.

Misfortune comes at us in the worse of times. The most common examples of adversity in the average person’s life is loss of employment and relationships. Also, things such as death of friends and family has an ill effect on people and is by far great adversity in itself. When we are caught up in the storm of life, what is our first thing we resort to? Do we panic, or do we initiate our damage control? Your best bet is always to stop the bleeding from a wound when injured, and when our welfare is at stake we should follow the same example. Find resources and avenues you can pursue to help bring you out of your misfortune.

As I have said, attitude is everything. Although a positive attitude won’t perhaps save you from everything but it may help you to deal with whatever is your misfortunes at the time. Being able to roll with the punches is one of the most important skills you can learn in life. Misfortune is horrible, sure, but we will be a stronger person after we dredge ourselves out of the mud puddles. When our mind is positive, it creates possibilities to help us in our current situation. When we have a negative mindset, our negative attitude can destroy positive opportunities when they present themselves. The best way to look at it is positivity heals and negativity kills.

Misfortune is hard, but I believe the human mind (which includes all of our minds amongst humanity) is stronger. Find friends, look for new jobs, get a loan from the bank, do whatever it takes to overcome your misfortune. Stay calm and positive and you will come out of it a stronger person. As we have all heard, what doesn’t kill you makes you a stronger person. We have survived so many great misfortunes and calamities as a world, from inquisitions and shootings to bombings and wars. We are perfect in a sense as long as we work together and be proactive as a whole. United we will stand and divided we will fall.

Conclusion

Misfortune may come into your life at any time. It’s our reaction to misfortune that insures a successful recovery or brings in even more misfortune. Do not think of misfortune as merely an event that occurs in our lives that we have no control over. Treat misfortune as a speedbump in life that we must go through to reach our destination. We cannot become discouraged and worry about where we have to be and where we have to go when dealing with misfortune. Unfortunate circumstances can set you back, but with the right mentality we can get back on the road before you know it. When life gives you a detour you must find a shortcut to get back on track. Always remember the positive mind is invincible.
