Dealing With Pressure
Pressure is everywhere in our world. Peer pressure, pressure from work, or even pressure from our family. What are we to do? We are constantly suffering at the hands of others, giving our bodies and minds more stress than we should have to handle. What are we to do when the weight of the world is too heavy for our mortal coil to take? We must remain strong, and fight through the barriers placed upon us by this broken world. I want to talk about pressure in a broad sense today. I want to explain how it feels and what you can to help yourself to overcome the pressure.
Pressure, An Eternal Foe
Pressure: The use of influence, pursuasion, or coersion to make someone do something.
Pressure is something I have felt at many times in my life. Most would say I preform well under pressure. By no means am I perfect though, as none of us are. There is times I lock myself away from this world. Have you done the same? We live a life that has infinite possibilities, and that includes many negative possibilities and consequences. Should we be held responsible for our failures that are a result of the pressure of our lives? The answer is no, the responsibility lies within the hands of those who pressured us. I know to your boss or children or maybe even your spouse they may be disappointed in you, but that is okay. If they really love you they will also respect and support you in all scenarios. That's right. When people love you they will accept your flaws and failures and be there for you in your time of need.
Pressure is what makes many people fail. The human body responds to pressure in an almost flight-or-fight like way. Adrenaline is secreted, and we may even sweat or emotionally break down when we are under pressure. This world hates us, and loves to see you fail. Should we feel as if failure is the end of the world? No. I will love you always no matter how many times you fail. Failure just proves that we really are human. There is nothing better than being human. Humanity is a quality that separates us from beasts and plants. We are held together by our humanity. Without humanity, we become alienated by those around us. Hold onto your humanity and strive towards emotional freedom, enlightenment. It’s the most effective way to liberate ourselves from pressure and all other sources of suffering. One who is knowledgeable and wise knows that suffering is just another aspect and emotion of the mind.
Pressure is horrible, and I know it is truly unavoidable. Try your best to take timeouts and meditate when under pressure. Take time for yourself. There is so many things in this life that we can do to better our mental well-being. Life gets easier when we learn coping skills. Do not be concerned if at first it is hard to cope with pressure or any other type of negative emotion. Those who cast pressure on us often don’t realize it. Talk it out with them. Let them know how you feel. If they love you they will respect your barriers and feelings. Pressure is bound to happen to us all and it’s something we can minimize. Reading even helps reduce stress. Fight through the stress, and recenter yourself. You’ll be glad you did and handle all that pressure so much better. Learn coping skills and speak to those you love about stress today, and your life will see a turn for the better.
