Tough Decisions

In life we are faced with many difficult decisions. We are always making choices that have both good and bad attached to them. We attempt to choose wisely, yet are often caught in the crossfire. What we decide impacts both our lives and us. You'll be lost in hindsight when it's all over, no matter what you do. You can ask for direction but I'm afraid the consequences will be your fortune or demise no matter who you run to.

Whatever a person does, they must not become locked into the past by the choices we make. Stay within reason and know that if we make a bad decision that life is not over. I know that the past haunts people, but we must be greater than that. We have been chosen for sagehood, and that means to be free of suffering in whatever form that it approaches us as. If you haven't figured yet, hindsight is a form of suffering. Yet this leads to a great contemplation: what are we to do when the really difficult decisions come our way?

We must remember to meditate upon all things. It is true we will never understand all of life's mysteries, but for the personal dilemmas in our life we must not be hasty. Consider all angles and options and make a decision based solely upon what is best. If we do not know what is best, then why not seek help and help online? Forums are a great resource that give you the option to  view archives or perhaps even start a new thread. We are truly never alone. Never dismiss advice as bad advice, as we are all bound by different values.

Difficult decisions will plague your mind the longer you debate them. If you have people who are close to you in life, then you must consider their words and input. When you have friends, family, and loved ones, your decisions impact them as well. Do not ever consider a selfish option for your outcome. If we give into greed it effects our enlightenment. We cannot allow selfish decisions to happen for someone chosen to be selfless. Consider your loved ones, make a wise decision, and reap the benefits. That's right: making a karmic and sound decision always has a positive value attached to it, even if it doesn't seem as if it does at first. You'll understand it's reward along down the road.

Bad Decisions

Making a bad decision does not signify the end of your life: (at least I hope not.) We must live through our bad decisions and with it, hoping to forget about what happened sooner than later. Consolation is always the pity prize to those who faltered, but is never what we desire. We cannot go through life always worried and confused. So what if we made a bad decision? Rome rose and fell, and we will at many times in our life. I know what happened hurt, whether it be in the past or even recently, but please, never give up. I am forever sorry for all the injustices of this universe and their multitude, but I would destroy the heavens just to make you smile. However, I'm afraid my words and actions will not erase your pain. Quite simply, bad decisions are just another part of life and growing up. Experience comes from bad decisions, as does wisdom. A man or woman must live before becoming a sage, and a sage must be human before being called to sagehood. Do not be discouraged by a bad decision you have made in your life, for I have made many. I am a man not held by merit, but by my good karma, as are you. Everything balances in the end, as well as our life, and I wish you well until the next article.
