Gaining a New Perspective

Gaining a New Perspective
We've all heard the phrase "Walk a mile on their shoes." Quite simply this means to gain a new perspective on another person because our knowledge is insufficient or needs correction. We often misjudge many things in our life, and often it involves another person we were not sympathetic towards. Sympathy should be felt for others, as I hope we have evolved past apathy at this point of our world. Unfortunately, we are often not sympathetic towards one another, and to have a better world we do need to care about each other. We've all had the rain fall on us, and all we really need is someone who cares.

 A Refreshing View
People, whether we like to admit it or not, are bound to their knowledge, which forms their opinion. Sometimes, if not almost always, our opinions are wrong. Opinions are something that can be shaped and shifted by outside forces. These forces that corrupt our perspective are like a virus to our psyche, which is then transmitted to others. We must stop our ignorance by absorbing as much information as possible. I am not telling you to take time to get to know every person on a intimate basis, but what I am telling you is this: do not ever stop learning. Read as much as possible, and see the world. Those who have traveled always are more affluent than those who have not. Their eyes are open to the bigger picture. I know it's easy to get caught up in a small town, as if they are a black hole. We all move on in life, and we are fortunate if those we love come with us.

Transferring Our Views to Others
We must let people know we care about them. We must have a perspective that does not condemn, but at the same time protects ourselves. We cannot console the devil, but at the same to not fall to his ploys. We must help out one another. If we leave someone behind who is destructive but show them the truth them they may turn around. (Often, we help others through kind words. However, sometimes we need to give them life-changing harsh words. I understand this may we counter-productive, but trust me, that is far from the case.)

Do not ever misjudge a person, for they could change your life. I know that sounds odd, but we do not know if they are the one. They may not be having the best day, but they may be the shining angel to lead your soul through the dark. Often, this is the case. Always love the fallen angels. Their wings may be black, but at one time they shone brighter than the sun. They may not need your guidance but we need theirs. Mind-numbing, isn't it?
Being concerned for others is not the same as caring about others. We put so much time into sorting our own thoughts and feelings that we don't make time for the feelings of others. Change that. Read about current world events and imagine what they must be going through. Imagine what their lives are like, and you will gain a new perspective. It's exactly what you need to survive in this broken world.
