Purchased Media: The Hidden Worlds Our Minds Explore
Before we go into this subject, I want to express any or even a few of our media, the books/movies/television/video games and music are bad or have hidden messages in them. The ones that do get quite a reputation, and this is not the point of this article. People should be allowed to enjoy what they like, as long as it isn't hurting anyone, including themselves.
Media is something that is rampant in modern day society. Books have been around for quite some time, but things like digital music are a fairly new notion in the world. Video games, which we're once only in arcades and expensive home systems are now readily available for little to no cost. All these things have some sort of metaphysical hidden realm inside, and every avid reader knows, it's easy to get "sucked into" a good book. Are these created worlds, ones that are similar to the places portrayed in ancient mythology? In this article, we are going to explore briefly the possibilities of these "portals".
(Note: for further similar study, You might want to check out an earlier article on my blog about dimensions. It's not exactly like this article, but there is a direct correlation.)
To start off, we will study the popular media we call video games. They are very easy for people of all ages to get addicted to. They have these digital worlds and charismatic characters that make it easy for people to invest a lot of money and time into. It is not outlandish to believe there is a hidden plane inside each one on top of the digital realm that is already implied in this form of virtual reality. This virtual worlds pose real life dangers when the games are online with other people's "avatars." Nevertheless, games do promote a lot of problem solving skills do to all video games basic premises of trial-and-error. I'll leave the rest about video games to your mind's eye, for, as mentioned, are completely up to you to investigate and enjoy.
Movies are like books in a more stagnant form. Instead of leaving things to the visual part of the mind, as in reading a book, the movie defines the visuals, from the appearance of characters, to the scenery, and to the intensity of the actors and actresses. Movies make us laugh and cry, and leave us wanting to come back for more. Face it. We all watch movies, and fall in love with the characters and actors. Here's something. I know I don't reveal much about myself in the blog, but my favorite type of movies are comedy and drama, as clichéd as that is. Movies keep the inspiration alive, for both you, me, and everyone.
Music, is something that has soothed souls for thousands of years. I don't know anyone who doesn't like music. Vocals, guitars, and drums are just a few of the many instruments that makes songs come to life. My grandmother was an expert piano players so you may say that I am partial to the piano. What music do you like? Does it seem to have a magical sense about it, or perhaps do certain songs motivate you, and make you want to dance? Isn't music incredible? I dream of a day you can tell me all of the media that sparks your soul.
Conclusion
I'm sure most media is mind altering, and has spirits of it's own nature, if you will. Always do what you enjoy, but remember that if something makes you feel uneasy, then it's probably time to shut it off. Family and friends are important so don't neglect them. Celebrate what makes you who you are. Enjoy those fantastic hidden worlds.
