Greener Glades

The grass is always greener on the other side. We’ve all heard it, and may of even fall victim to this erroneous belief. This philosophical conundrum is the theory that people will always think something new or different is better than what or where they currently are in life. This is far from the truth. The human mind responds to change as if it’s fresh food for the mind. After awhile, though, the mind will desire it’s old way of life. But, just why is this the case?

Change is invigorating. Change is what causes normal, caring men, to leave their family for some other women. It’s what makes people leave their current job in search of a new one, believing they need a "change of scenery." Despite all this, there is some situations in which change is a good thing.. In the rest of this article, we will be exploring when change is not only aa good thing, but a great thing.

To Change or Not to Change

There is some things in life people feel obligated to change. More often than not, this changes we believe that we have to make come from a depressing situation. After all, why would we change something that makes us happy? (Even so, there is people who would change what ,makes them happy. This, is man’s curse.) The question is, what you would change, and for what reason?

Try this exercise:
1. list off 4 things you would want to change in your life
2. list why you would change these things
3. list the pros and cons of each change you would like to make in your life

Have you discovered something new about yourself after doing this exercise? Has it brought new insight into what you dream about, or could possibly change? Did it reveal to you that perhaps change in your life would make it worse for you, and then you would be unhappy with what you thought was a great idea?

What to Change

There is things people should always change. Cut out the negative. Rid yourself of evil influences and people. Take out the trash, and make your mind a clean and tidy place. Guard your home against those who would destroy it. Change happens in the mind, and the only type of change that should happen in the mind is purging what us wrong in our existence

Disobedient children? Give them counsel personally. Don’t punish them, they’ll only act up more. Tension in the workplace? Address the issues head on. An emptiness in your life? Feel it with what is good. Love and peace for all, and freedom for the soul. No pain is worth enduring, and it all comes from suffering. suffering comes from what you should change. Never surrender, and never believe you are sealed into one existence.

Change what is causing you pain, and fill your life with love, sympathy, and cheer. Revel in other’s success and be content with your own. Never believe any situation is hopeless. If we take the steps to better ourselves, we will eventually find enlightenment. A person should always change what is wrong in their life. The question is, do you have enough strength to change it? I believe you do.

Conclusion

We have discussed the parameters of change and when it is necessary. We have debunked the old philosophical idea "The grass is always greener on the other side" which seems to be an idea that’s only purpose is to make man fall. Live your own life, my fellow sisters and brothers. If you are indeed trapped in something negative, then change it. Do not believe we are shackled, for we are free.
