Interpreting and Cold Reading: An Exclusive

A person's image and behavior can tell all. I've heard you can't judge a book by its cover, but that idiom is not always accurate. I can get impressions and insight from a person by anything and everything, including things such as body language, speech, and dress. Its an age-old secret that I am about to give you a crash course on it. Lucky you.

 Judgement

A person has a mental, emotional, and physical appearance. These three appearances constitutes the person's physiological make up. The person's physiological make up can give us hints and clues about a person's mood, personality, and stability. (or lack there of.)

First, the person's mental "appearance" can be deciphered by the person's body language and manner of speech. Any fast speech and excessive body language can indicate a lack of mental stability. Also, slurring and off-topic speech can indicate that the person is mentally distraught or possibly intoxicated. Additionally, any successful speech and correct use of body language can indicate the person's stability and if they seem like they are too good at it, they could possibly could be attempting to manipulate you or lie to you.

The person's emotional make up says so much about a person's current demeanor. The first thing to look for is any emotional red flags. Crying and anger outburst are easy to identify. Use caution when dealing with depressed or angry people. Other things to look for when it comes to a person's emotions are anxiety and joy. An anxious or excited person can even be seen as slightly or very unstable. A person who is happy might be the easiest of the emotional types to deal with, just make sure you don't do anything to disrupt their mood. Finally, a person who is indifferent is like a blank canvas. They can be painted as you see fit.

Physical appearances say a lot. We will go over some examples. A person with torn clothing may be either poor or has had an accident or maybe even gotten into a fight. A person who is dressed nicely may have a relationship or business engagement in the recent past or near future. A person dressed like one of the many social stereotypes can be viewed as from the associated school of thought, and consequently, school of behavior. Someone with bulges in clothing or a hand in a pocket should be viewed as dangerous, for a weapon may be within their reach. Those dressed in revealing clothing can be seen as, well, someone I'll say who is looking for "trouble". How about someone who's wearing black? They may be attending a funeral or have recently attended one. Quite honestly, the hints given by a person's physical appearance are endless. Be careful and watch and judge a person by their physical appearance and clothing.

A Picture Really Does Say a Thousand Words

Use photos to identify a person's mood at the time. This a great way to practice your cold reading abilities. Find photos of your friends on social networks and practice with them. You might just become a better friend. Knowing how to read your friend's moods is crucial to keeping a lasting and strong relationship with them. When you capture a picture it's  like you are capturing a visual record of the moment. In this day and age, people love pictures and videos, which can simply be recorded with even their phones. This is a visual age, and it's time to use it to your full advantage.
