Dreams Revisited
Dreams are something that are elusive, both when sleeping and while awake. Have you ever had a "daydream" before? I sure know I have. Are dreams a passive ambition, or are they more? What are your dreams? Do you dream of flying, or pursuing happiness? Do you wish to climb mountains, or perhaps conquering your own problems? This life, and the ones after, are full of endless possibilities. What is yours?
All dreams, be it while you are asleep or awake, have some kind of basis behind them. It's our subconscious talking to us. The subconscious can be very powerful in our minds and sculpt any and every aspect of us, as well as deliver messages, (that can sometimes be a bit cryptic) to us. Our subconscious mind's method of delivering messages to us can often be subtle, and sometimes downright subliminal. I believe our minds decipher the messages in an unique manner.
How Do We Know?
How do we know when we are dreaming? That's just it. Very few people realize when we are dreaming. In fact, how do we know what is real and what is a dream? I don't think anyone knows for sure. For the longest while, people believed that our brains were completely dormant while we slumbered. However, our mind is active while we are dreaming. I believe the dream state we experience while we are asleep is played to us like some sort of movie. How much interactivity we have within our dreams is unknown but could be minimal. Let's face it: when's the last time you remembered having any control over your nightly dreams? (let alone remember one for long.)
While You Were Awake
We all have dreams and goals in life, and we all seem to have different ones, at least to some extent. Our dreams can be determined by who we are, what our family does, what's popular in the media, and many more. Very few of us have an individual dream. Some people have grand dreams, like world peace. However unrealistic a dream might be, they're still a part of the person and they reflect a person's inner most desires. Much can be revealed about a person through their dreams alone.
Take a moment to think. Do your conscious and subconscious dreams intersect? Do you have positive, healthy dreams? Or are your dreams dark? Its safe to say if you are having dark desires that you are having waking nightmares. You don't need to do wrong to anyone or anything to find happiness in life. I suppose everyone is different though.
Lucid Dreams
Lucid dreams are very vivid, memorable dreams. Few people experience these often. Some lucid dreams may be effected by your environment. It's not uncommon for us to have someone "enter" our dreams if they are within earshot (which supports the theory of the brain being passively active while sleeping). Lucid dreams are infrequent for most. I can remember only a hand full for myself in the last year. Listen to these dreams, for they may be intuitive.
Concluding Words
I wish I could say more, and I am sure I will in future posts. I tried to cover what I can here, and in the previous dream-related post. Let your dreams guide you from one life to the next. Listen to your heart. Is your heart with you? Does it agree with your dreams? Aim high, and make your dreams a reality. Nothing is more sweet than the fruits of success.
